Jazz duo Dr Fox and the Stickman, will apply lashings of funk, swing and bossa nova to some sweet jazz melodies.  Beware of improvisatory explosions and quirky time signature games.

The duo features Inoeg, a.k.a. Dr Fox, on the Grand Stick.  The Stick is a twelve-stringed tapping Chapman Stick, an instrument related to the guitar but which plays bass, treble, rhythm, melody and everything in between.  Dr Fox is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, aside from his early background in classical strings.  He has recently taken to the Grand Stick and can't get enough of the freedom it provides to express the music that's in his mind.  Recently returned from a sabbatical in the tropics of Vanuatu, Dr Fox is taking the Canberra jazz scene by storm with his flashing fingers and creative improvisations that have audiences wondering just how he does it all at once.

On drums, Graham Finnemore is the Stickman, adding powerful jazz beats and rhythmic inspiration that lead the duo to some fine moments of improvisation.  Graham has been playing drums for over forty years and teaching for the last twenty.  He started playing jazz at age ten, and at 25 studied with Jeff Walsh (graduate of New Delhi and Sydney Conservatoriums of Jazz).  Graham plays with jazz, blues, rock and corporate dance bands, and has supported a diverse range of artists – including Stevie Wright, Bondi Cigars, Human Nature, Thirsty Merc, and Rogue Traders.
