A relatively informal musical event, social dance and artistic fusion where local and interstate musicians play typically instrumentalist improvised 'solos' lead by established Afro-Cuban DJs playing what is commonly known in the Latino musical market as a 'Descargas'.

'Descarga' is an improvised Jam Session consisting of variation of electrifying Cuban Music rhythms primarily Son Montuno but also Guajira, Bolero Guaracha and Rumba.
The genre is strongly influenced by Jazz. The concept of Cuban Jam Session or 'Descarga' was developed during the 1950's.
