Local poet and singer-songwriter Alaric Jones is releasing his first EP titled "The Present Race", a collection of songs that have been nearly a decade in the making.

His songwriting and guitar style is heavily inspired by his musical idols Elliot Smith, Leonard Cohen, and Nick Drake.

Alaric Jones weaves his poems together with gentle melodies to create intricate, raw stories and brutally honest thoughts, exploring tales of old poets and myths, as well as tackling climate change, grief, and finding strength through music.
